Technology can be shiny and new. Headlights let drivers see down the road and the technology behind them has evolved since the Model T. Individual wipers/washers remove mud and dirt that collects on the lens. Adaptive headlights swivel based on the direction the driver steers the car in. Xenon headlights are the current trend, as are LEDs for daytime running lights.

SearchInform’s search technologies acquire the recognition of IBM. A partnership agreement was signed between the two companies as a result..

According to the agreement, SearchInform Technologies will take part in IBM PartnerWorld Industry Networks (PWIN) partnership program. The agreement also states that in the course of 2007 SearchInform’s search solution will be integrated with IBM’s program products, in particular with tools from Lotus and WebSphere product lines.

1) If you’re looking for the solutions to a quadratic equation, then you are interested in the values of x that make y = 0. So when you graph the quadratic, you can approximate the roots by looking where the quadratic curve crosses y = 0. It could be two places, one place, or no places.

2) Sometimes an approximation is sufficient depending on the application. Sometimes if you have a lot of them, all you want to know is if the curve crosses y = 0 or not.
