When it comes to finding a sonogram technician training program in New York, you must be careful to choose a properly accredited institution. Before we review a list of the best New York sonogram technician programs, the first question you may have is why should you become a sonogram technician in the first place?
Sonogram technicians are skilled professionals who use the technology of high frequency sound – much higher than the range of the human ear – to probe inside the human body.
The sonogram technician spreads a special gel on the outside of the body to aid in the conduction of the sound. The sonography machine uses a probe called a transducer which the technician then uses to direct the sound waves into the body.
The waves bounce off of the organs and other internal structures within the body and the machine interprets these echoes as dynamic images of the body in action.
Sonogram technicians are highly in demand for this service, and the decision to enter this field in the state of New York is a good one. New York State in general, and especially New York City in particular are hubs of medical activity with an active need for this service.Consequently the sonography field has been bucking the trend of the economy in general, and has been quite active.
In order to become a sonography technician, you need at least a 2 year associates degree in sonography from a properly accredited hospital, school, clinic or other learning institution.
The only proper accreditation you should consider is CAAHEP accreditation. CAAHEP (Commitee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) will enable you to sit for your certification examination to become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), and this will qualify you for a full time position and the average annual salary for sonographers which is currently between ,000 – ,000.

I want to get from Sacramento to Bend, OR (SMF to RDM) on a direct flight. Where do I find out which airlines have this? If no one has this flight, I can settle for Oakland or SFO (direct to Bend).
